Christmas Please Come Back

I love Christmas.  I just love this amazing time of year.  It is a season of love, radiating with warmth, peace, joy and good cheer.  Every year around July 4th I start thinking Christmas and not only do I start thinking Christmas, I start planning for Christmas from my shopping (grabbing those sales) to my holiday menu.

Every year I try to implement a theme.  For the past two years my theme were snowmen, but this year I"m going to go with Santa Claus I think, but no matter what I decide it's go to be a winter wonderland in my home!!!!  I have a girlfriend who loves Christmas more than I do and every inch, and I do mean every inch of her home is covered with Christmas decor!  She and her family love it.  All year long she searches for Christmas nuggets to add to her decor.  I'm telling you she could open her own Christmas Shop!

Around September 8 every year like clockwork I drag my husband to the Christmas Tree Shoppe so that I can get an early jump on everything that I need for my Christmas Eve Dinner.  I usually buy napkins, plastic cups, serving dishes and anything else that I can think of.  I also hit the Dollar stores on a regular basis.  I usually rack up on Christmas bags from Dollar Tree because I like to give a lovely presentation to my daughters with little knick-knack and what-nots and they love it as do I!

I also do a ton of baking every year.  Right after Thanksgiving I start baking my brownies and cheesecakes.  I freeze with all kinds of wrap to make sure that they stay as fresh as when they came of the oven.  It makes it easier for me to do my baking really early because I want to spend as much time with my family as possible.  I don't think anyone wants to spend all their time in the kitchen when family gathers together.  Last year I made brownies, cheesecakes, chocolate chip cookies and a red-velvet cake with cream cheese icing.  That red-velvet cake was so good that I couldn't believe it myself.  I found the secret ingredient to making it super moist and so delicious.  Do you know what that secret ingredient is?  If you do, please email me at momsinslippers@yahoo.com and tell me before I share it here!  Just a little fun game I like to play.

One of my all time favorite things to do during the Christmas Season is to watch QVC!  I love the way that they decorate their set; talk about warm and cozy!!! Someone at QVC definitely has a lovely style for decorating that's for sure.  This year I'm anxious to see what new items they will be introducing to us this Christmas season!

Well, I have to be patient and wait for Christmas to arrive.  As quickly as the year is flying by, I won't have to wait for long!  I'm excited.  I've started my Christmas shopping already and I'll continue to shop until Christmas returns!
